BNWSAA Member School: Burnaby North
Burnaby North is a large, urban high school. We enroll a diverse population of approximately 1600 students from grades 8 through 12. We compete in the highest tier in all high school sports. At Burnaby North Secondary School, we strive to develop the full potential of every student by using many different approaches to learning and offer a wide range of programs.
Founded in 1922, Burnaby North moved to its current location in 1946. Currently Burnaby North is being rebuilt and our brand-new school is set to open in 2023!
We have a long tradition of academic achievement and public service. The Excel program offers Advanced Placement (AP) and Honours courses to interested students, while a variety of integrated and support programs are available to assist all students in achieving success. Burnaby North also offers a wide variety of clubs, extramural and intramural sports programs, and many leadership activities. Our school motto is “excellence, discovery and service” and many of our students are the epitome of that motto in that they contribute a considerable amount of time to both our school community and our community at large.
